Sportstourismindonesia – Jakarta November 2024, Ketua Umum Federasi Futsal Indonesia (FFI), Michael Victor Sianipar, mengungkapkan rasa terima kasih dan menyatakan kesuksesan Timnas Futsal Indonesia Juara ASEAN atau Piala AFF berkat bantuan dan dukungan dari pemerintah dalam hal ini Menpora dan PSSI.
“Terima kasih atas dukungan dan bantuan dari Menpora dan PSSI, yang sudah membantu sejak persiapan tim, sehingga Timnas Futsal Indonesia bisa menjadi juara ASEAN atau Piala AFF 2024,” ujar Michael Victor Sianipar ketika dihubungi Minggu (10/10/2024).
Timnas futsal Indonesia memastikan gelar juara Piala AFF Futsal 2024. Indonesia mengalahkan Vietnam 2-0 pada final yang berlangsung di Terminal 21 Hall, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, Minggu (10/11/2024) malam WIB.
Michael Victor Sianipar secara khusus mengucapkan terima kasih kepada ketua umum PSSI Erick Thohir yang selalu memberikan dukungan terhadap Futsal, “Terima kasih kepada Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir yang sudaj mendukung kami di posisi ini, sehingga bisa all out dan memastikan timnas futsal juara setelah 14 tahun penantian.”
Indonesia sebelumnya juara pada 2010. Saat itu, Indonesia menggasak Malaysia 5-0 di final. Kemenangan saat itu terjadi saat Vietnam menjadi tuan rumah.
Dari 18 edisi Piala AFF Futsal sejak 2001, ini merupakan gelar kedua yang berhasil diraih Indonesia. Sementara 16 gelar lainnya diborong Thailand. Rekor Indonesia di final pun sedikit membaik. Dari enam kali lolos ke final, dua gelar juara berhasil didapatkan.
Kemenangan di laga puncak ini menegaskan status Indonesia sebagai juara dengan rekor sempurna 100 persen. Sejak penyisihan, Indonesia yang tergabung di Grup B bersama dengan Australia, Myanmar, dan Kamboja, menyapu bersih kemenangan. Indonesia melumat Kamboja 9-0, menghajar Australia 3-1, dan mengatasi perlawanan Myanmar 5-1.
Di semifinal, tim asuhan Hector Souto mengatasi kandidat terkuat juara Thailand dengan skor telak 5-1. Performa impresif mencetak 22 gol dan hanya kebobolan tiga kali menuju partai puncak ini dipungkasi dengan gelar juara setelah menaklukkan.
